Security Architecture Workshop

Security Architecture Workshop

Jointly organized by

Car-to-Car Communication Consortium

and

EU FP7 Project PRESERVE

Ulm University, Germany

June 5th, 2013

Standardization is closing and day 1 deployment is approaching fast. At the same time, there are still open issues in many areas including architectural aspects related to security. While some may be addressed only in later versions, others, especially the ones that may have profound consequences for architecture, should be identified and discussed as early as possible. Through their joint work, PRESERVE and the C2C-CC Security WG have identified a number of those aspects and are now inviting selected experts from both industry and academia to a joint workshop to discuss the security architecture of C2X and define a day 1 / day 2 deployment architecture roadmap for security.

We identified the following topics to be especially relevant:
  • Combining IP and non-IP communication security
  • Stack Parallelism to exploit full potential of HSM
  • Meta-data and cross-layer signaling
  • Verification on Demand & Cert. Omission and Security of Distributed Congestion Control
  • PKI development

For each of these topics, we plan a brief 10 minutes impulse presentation to introduce the challenge followed by 20 minutes of discussion time. For some of the impulse presentations, we are still searching for volunteers to prepare and give the presentation. Please contact us if you want to contribute (j.petit@utwente.nl).

Direction: see http://www.uni-ulm.de/en/in/vs/how-to-reach-us.html for directions and travel details.
